Report on the 65th Anniversary Celebration
NSS Training College, Ottapalam
The 65th Anniversary of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, a premier institution and research centre in education accredited with NAAC A+ Grade (CGPA 3.40, III Cycle), was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity on 18th August 2025 at the General Hall of the college. The event marked a significant milestone in the glorious journey of the institution, celebrating sixty-five years of excellence in education, research, and service to society.
The programme commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and Acharyavandanam by Aswathy P. R. and Architha Ranjan, invoking blessings and paying respect to teachers. This was followed by a warm Welcome Speech delivered by Anirudh. R, who extended heartfelt greetings to the dignitaries, faculty, students, and guests.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha. R, Principal-in-Charge of the college. In her inspiring speech, she highlighted the institution’s rich legacy, academic achievements, and commitment to holistic education. She also emphasized the college’s continued dedication to fostering research, innovation, and value-based education in line with the goals of NEP 2020.
The formal Inauguration of the event was conducted by Sri. Narayanan. P, President of NSS Taluk Union, Ottapalam. In his address, he commended the college for its remarkable contributions to teacher education and societal development. He also encouraged the faculty and students to uphold the ideals of the NSS movement and carry forward the spirit of service, discipline, and excellence.
The session included Words of Appreciation by Athira T. N. and Aparna T. N., who expressed gratitude and admiration for the institution’s remarkable journey and its nurturing environment that continues to shape competent educators.
A heartfelt Vote of Thanks was proposed by Vismaya Prasad. K, who acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee, faculty members, student volunteers, and all participants who made the celebration a memorable success.
The programme was effectively compered by Arathi. P, ensuring smooth coordination of all sessions. Student coordination was undertaken by the Physical Science Department, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Menon. K. P, Teacher Coordinator.
