World Ozone Day 2026 Celebrated at NSS Training College, Ottapalam

NSS Training College, Ottapalam, observed World Ozone Day on 16 September 2026 under the auspices of Haritha Nature Club. 

The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and encourage students and staff to adopt eco-friendly practices for its protection.

 The event was conducted under the leadership of Principal-in-Charge Dr. Sureshkumar K. The programme was coordinated by Haritha Nature Club Coordinator Dr. Anu S, along with Student Coordinators Nandana Krishna N and Haritha H. 

As part of the celebration, an online quiz competition was conducted from 7:00–7:30 PM to enhance students' knowledge about the ozone layer and the need for its protection. M. Aiswarya Menon (M.Ed. First Year) secured the first position in the quiz, showing excellent knowledge about the ozone layer and its importance in protecting our environment. The programme created awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and encouraged everyone to protect it for a better and sustainable future.

ONE-DAY WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL TOOLS AND ACADEMIC SKILLS

Programme Description

The IT Club of N.S.S. Training College, Ottapalam, organised a one-day hands-on workshop for M.Ed First-Year students focusing on essential digital tools and academic technology skills required for postgraduate study, research, teaching, and e-content development.

The workshop provided practical training in formatting Word documents according to APA 7th Edition guidelines, including the formatting and editing of tables and figures and the preparation of references in APA style. Participants were introduced to important features of Microsoft Excel, including calculations and the preparation of graphs using spreadsheet data.

The workshop also covered the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, creation of academic posters and certificates, development of blogs, embedding PowerPoint presentations in blogs, and creation of concept maps. Participants were introduced to digital content creation through comic strips, flip books from PDF files, podcasts, and educational videos.

Training was also provided in the creation and use of Google Forms and Google Classroom. The workshop included an introduction to the basic features of Jamovi, a statistical software package used for data analysis.

The workshop followed a practical, activity-oriented approach, enabling students to develop hands-on familiarity with digital tools and apply them to academic and educational tasks. The sessions were designed to support the students in preparing academic documents, presentations, visual materials, digital learning resources, research-related outputs, and online learning activities.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. K. S. Sajan, with the support and coordination of the IT Club of N.S.S. Training College, Ottapalam.

The IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organised the ICT Orientation Programme for the 2026–28 batch of B.Ed. and M.Ed. students on 15 September 2026 in the General Hall. Attendance was mandatory for the newly admitted students.

The programme focused on familiarising students with the college’s digital platforms and how to use them effectively. The orientation included an introduction to the college Learning Management System (LMS), enrolment of students in the LMS, orientation to the college’s official digital and social media platforms, and guidelines for accessing and using these platforms. Students were instructed to bring their admission numbers for completing the enrolment process.

The programme commenced with Prayer and Acharya Vandanam. Dr. Aswathy K.S., IT Club Member, delivered the welcome address. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar K., Principal in Charge. Dr. K.S. Sajan, IT Club Coordinator, served as the Resource Person. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Anu S. and Ms. Seema C., both IT Club Members. Dr. Lekshmi V., IT Club Member, delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme provided the newly admitted students with an orientation to the college’s principal digital learning and communication platforms and outlined the procedures for accessing and using them. The accompanying photograph records the programme in progress at the General Hall.

ഒറ്റപ്പാലം പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ ജനമൈത്രി സുരക്ഷ സമിതി യോഗം ചേർന്നു.റെസിഡൻ്റ് അസ്സോസിയേഷൻ ഭാരവാഹികൾ, അധ്യാപകർ, നേർവഴി പ്രവർത്തകർ, എസ് എസി എസ് ടി പ്രമോട്ടർമാർ, ജാഗ്രത സമിതി അംഗങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങിയവർ യോഗത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. അധ്യാപക ദിനം സമുചിതമായി ആചരിക്കാനും മുതിർന്ന അധ്യാപകരെ ആദരിക്കാനും തീരുമാനിച്ചു.റെസിഡൻ്റ് അസ്സോസിയേഷൻ ഭാരവാഹികൾക്ക് സുരക്ഷ - നിയമ അവബോധ ക്ലാസ്സ് നൽകാനും യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചു. സ്കൂളുകളിലെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് ട്രാഫിക് അവബോധ ക്ലാസ്സ് നൽകാനും, ഹൈസ്ക്കൂൾ ഹയർ സെക്കണ്ടറി സ്കൂളുകളിലെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ റ്റെപ്പാലത്തെ ട്രാഫിക് നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നതിൽ പങ്കാളികളാക്കാനും യോഗത്തിൽ തീരുമാനമായി. ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ ഓഫ് പോലീസ് എ അനന്തകൃഷ്ണൻ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. നേർവഴി പദ്ധതി കൺവീനർ ടി പി പ്രദീപ് കുമാർ അധ്യക്ഷനായി. ജനമൈത്രി സി ആർ ഒ വിനോദ് ബി നായർ, ബീറ്റ് ഓഫീസർ ഡി കിരൺ, ടി പി ജയപ്രകാശ് എന്നിവർ സംസാരിച്ചു.
