เดตാเดฏเดจാเดตാเดฐാเดšเดฐเดฃം 2026 ( Vayanavaracharanam 2026)

The Bhashavedi and Malayalam Association of NSS Training College, Ottapalam jointly organized 'Vayanavaracharanam' on 19/06/2026 with the objective of promoting reading habits and fostering an appreciation for Malayalam literature among students.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Lekshmi V, Assistant Professor and Bhashavedi Coordinator, who highlighted the significance of reading in nurturing knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Shankaranarayanan Paleri, Associate Professor and renowned writer, who delivered an inspiring inaugural address emphasizing the transformative power of reading and the role of literature in shaping enlightened individuals and a progressive society.
The function was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar K, Principal in Charge, NSS Training College, Ottapalam. Dr. M. P. Ravishankar, Assistant Professor and Staff Advisor, offered felicitation and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting a vibrant reading culture within the institution.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Abhirami K. R., Assistant Professor in Malayalam Education, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, the Principal in Charge, faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
The celebration served as a meaningful initiative to reinforce the importance of books and reading, inspiring students to cultivate a lifelong habit of learning and literary appreciation.

World Environment Day 2026 Celebrated at NSS Training College, Ottapalam

NSS Training College, Ottapalam, observed World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 under the joint auspices of the Haritha Nature Club and the Natural Science Association. The programme aimed to create environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students and staff.

As part of the celebration, saplings of Synsepalum dulcificum (Miracle Fruit) and Syzygium samarangense (Wax Apple) were planted on the college campus to promote biodiversity and environmental conservation.

An awareness talk on the importance of environmental protection and sustainable living was delivered by Ms. Anusree V., Natural Science Department. The session highlighted the need for collective action to address environmental challenges and inspired students to adopt eco-friendly habits.

An online quiz competition was also conducted from 6:45 -7:00 P M to enhance environmental knowledge among students. Sreedevi S. (M.Ed.) and Meera P (B.Ed. English Optional) secured the first and second position respectively, demonstrating excellent awareness and understanding of environmental issues.

The programme successfully fostered environmental consciousness among the participants and reinforced the importance of protecting nature for a sustainable future.

Send off Meeting : Dr Sheeba Krishnan

A send-off meeting in honour of Dr. Sheeba Krishnan, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottapalam, on her transfer to NSS Training College, Pandalam, was held in the General Hall at 12 noon. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sankaranarayanan Paleeri, IQAC Coordinator. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Lekshmi V, Staff Secretary, and the keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar K, Principal-in-Charge. Felicitations were offered by Sri Manoj Kumar, Office Representative, Ms. Anila (M.Ed. Student), Ms. Gauri (B.Ed. Student), and Ms. Suchitra (Ph.D. Scholar), who highlighted Dr. Sheeba Krishnan’s valuable contributions to the institution. As a token of love and appreciation, a memento was presented to Dr. Sheeba Krishnan by Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar K on behalf of the NSS Training College, Ottapalam family. In her reply speech, Dr. Sheeba Krishnan expressed heartfelt gratitude to colleagues, students, and staff for their support and cooperation during her tenure. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a separate send-off gathering with staff members at 3.00 p.m.The Principal-in-Charge  formally handed over the relieving order to Dr. Sheeba Krishnan
