27-03-2025: College Merit Day

 The College Merit Day 2025 is organized on 27-03-2025. The program was organized to honor the best scorers and winners of the 2022-2024 B Ed and M Ed batches. 

The merit day distributed cash awards to the B Ed optional class wise toppers, second toppers, M Ed topper, and second toppers of B Ed classes and M Ed. 

The award was distributed to college toppers and second toppers in the B Ed program of 2022-2024.

Other awards are: 

KS Menon endowment award to the best outgoing students of the Social Science class

Vijayasree Menon endowment award for top scorer of Malayalam optional papers.

WORLD WATER DAY OBSERVANCE

                                 


The Blue Army Club of our college organized a Water Conservation Awareness Program in observance of World Water Day. The event aimed to educate and inspire students about the significance of water conservation and the urgent need to protect our water resources. The program was led by first-year Natural Science students Nimisha, Priyanka, and Sabira. They effectively highlighted key aspects of water conservation through various examples. A video was screened, emphasizing the importance of water conservation and the preservation of glaciers. It also provided insights into global water scarcity, the impact of climate change on water bodies, and sustainable water management practices. To reinforce the message, signboards displaying impactful slogans and facts about water conservation were exhibited.

M.Ed. Third Semester Result Analysis Report 
 The M.Ed. Third Semester Result Analysis Report of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, showcases the academic achievements of students, highlighting the top performers and subject-wise performance distribution. The top three performers are Vinisha B V with 88%, Vinitha U K with 87.5%, and Ajanya R with 86.25%.
The subject-wise performance of students is categorized into Distinction, First Class, Second Class, and Fail for the subjects MED 09, MED 10, MED 12.1, and Option Paper. The performance breakdown reveals that 14 students secured distinction, 8 students secured first class, 2 students secured second class, and no students failed. This result reflects a strong academic performance across all subjects.
The key highlights of the results include a high achievement rate with no failures recorded, a majority of students securing distinction, and consistent subject performance. The institution's commitment to quality education is evident in the outstanding results, and the student’s hard work and dedication are commendable.
The success of students is a result of the dedicated efforts of the faculty and the guidance provided by Prof. Dr. Sunil Kumar A S, Class In charge, and Prof. Dr. Smitha R, Principal In charge. Congratulations to all students for their achievements.

Gargi' Women Development Cell celebrated Women’s Day

 

The 'Gargi' Women Development Cell celebrated Women’s Day on March 10, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the General Hall. The event began with a welcome speech by Dr. Aswathy K. S. (Teacher Coordinator, Women Development Cell), followed by the presidential address by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R. (Principal in Charge). The keynote address and inauguration were led by Smt. K. A. Thulasi (Head of the Department of History, NSS College, Nemmara,  former member of Kerala Women’s Commission), who spoke on the topic "Women Empowerment: Reality." Dr. Lekshmi V. (Staff Advisor) and Sri. Suresh Kumar (Office Head Accountant) delivered felicitations. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Niveditha Varma (Student Coordinator, Women Development Cell). After the inaugural session, Women development cell, in collaboration with Palliative club conducted a Cancer Awareness Program. Prof. (Dr.) Seema Memon K. P. (Teacher Coordinator, Palliative Club) delivered the welcome speech and Mrs. Dhara V. C. (Coordinator, Ottapalam Welfare Trust) served as the resource person. E-Content Development Initiative on Educational Technology

Report: E-Content Development Initiative on Educational Technology



The M.Ed. Association, in collaboration with the IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, has launched an initiative to develop e-content focused on educational technology. This program aims to enhance the digital competencies of students and integrate technology into teaching methodologies.


Coordination and Oversight


Dr. K.S. Sajan, the IT Club Coordinator and teacher-in-charge of educational technology in the M.Ed. department, is leading this initiative. His expertise ensures the program's alignment with current technological trends and educational needs.


Activities and Student Participation


As part of the initiative, M.Ed. second-year students, including Surabhi C P, Aparna V Kumar, and Divya V V, have utilized the college's Digital Content Creation Studio to record lecture videos on various topics related to educational technology. Specifically, Surabhi C P delivered a lecture on "Types of Information", providing insights into the different categories of information and their significance in the digital age. This hands-on experience not only familiarizes them with content creation tools but also prepares them for future educational challenges.


Institutional Support


The NSS Training College has established a Digital Content Creation Studio to support such initiatives, reflecting the institution's commitment to integrating technology in education.


Future Plans


The M.Ed. Association and the IT Club plan to organize workshops and seminars to further enhance digital literacy among students and faculty. These events aim to keep the academic community updated on the latest advancements in educational technology.


This collaborative effort underscores NSS Training College's dedication to fostering technological proficiency in education, preparing educators to effectively navigate and contribute to the evolving digital landscape.

REPORT ON NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2025

The Physical Science Optional students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organized the National Science Day celebration, focusing on the theme "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat”, On 28 February 2025, 9:30 to 10 Am. The event aimed to highlight the significance of science and innovation in shaping India's future while encouraging young minds to contribute to global scientific advancements. The program was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal in-charge of NSS Training College, Ottapalam. In her inaugural address, she emphasized the importance of scientific research, critical thinking, and innovation in building a self-reliant and developed India (Viksit Bharat). Mrs. Anjali P, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottapalam, delivered felicitation, highlighting the role of educators in fostering scientific temperament among students. She encouraged future teachers to inspire scientific curiosity and innovation in young learners. A special talk on the significance of National Science Day was presented by Sreelakshmi M P, (First-year B.Ed. Physical Science) Vidhya V, (Second-year B.Ed. Physical Science). Both speakers elaborated on the legacy of Indian science, the contributions of eminent scientists, and the importance of empowering youth in the field of science and technology. Program was effectively compared by Preyas Prabhakaran (First-year B.Ed. Physical Science). The formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Nayana S (Second-year B.Ed. Physical Science), expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers.
