8. Objectives of the Workshop
The workshop was conducted to:
build basic and applied knowledge of statistical analysis in educational research
familiarize participants with key statistical concepts used in research methodology
help participants choose appropriate statistical tools for research problems
provide hands-on practice in analysis and interpretation of data
strengthen students’ ability to write results and discussion in research reports
9. Highlights of the Sessions
The programme covered major statistical components required for research work, including:
data preparation and coding
descriptive statistics (mean, median, SD, percentage)
interpretation of tables and outputs
testing of hypotheses
commonly used statistical tests in education research
t-test
ANOVA
correlation
regression (overview)
reporting of statistical results in thesis format
Practical training was given using sample datasets in the computer lab to ensure hands-on learning.

The Statistical Analysis Workshop conducted by NSS Training College, Ottapalam on 05/01/2026 was successful and met its objectives.
