Solar Eclipse on 26th December 2019.
Once again Kerala witnessed one of grand celestial events on 26th December 2019, the Solar eclipse. It began at 8 am and lasted up to 11.30am.Solar eclipse was prominently visible in the southern parts of Kerala and led to the formation of 'ring of fire' in the sky.This is actually an annular solar eclipse in which the moon will not be able to completly cover the Sun and leads to the ring of fire phenomenon. Most of the people in Kerala eagerly observed the eclipse .This is the photograph showing the shadows formed in the yard of a home at Ambalapara near to ottapalam during the eclipse.

College Tour for 2018_2020 B. Ed Batch.
The study tour of B Ed 2018 - 2020 batch was conducted on 16th to 19th December 2019.
The destinations for first day were Kurisumala, Pine Valley, Mottakunnu and Cattle Farm at Vagamon. On the second day, the tour group experienced Parunthanpara view point, Kambam Grape Farm (TN) and Exclusive Jeep trucking at Ramakkalmedu. The group also enjoyed a Malayalam Movie from Sagar Theater, Kattappana. The tour group reached back Ottappalam by 8 am on 19/12/2019.

An awareness program for students on Solar Eclipse was organized in collaboration with Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad on 19/12/2019. Sri.P. Parameswaran (Sasthra Sahithya Parishad) handled the session on the scientific process behind " Valaya sooryagrahanam".

Resource Person for UGC HRDC Kannur University
Dr. K.S.Sajan, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, NSS Training College, Ottapalam has engaged four sessions on "Web based e content development tools" on 16-12-2019 and 17-12-2019 in the Workshop on MOOCS, E-content Development and Open Educational Resources From 13-12-2019 to 19-12-2019 organized by the UGC- Human Resource Development Centre, Kannur University, Kerala.
HRDC record their deep sense of appreciation and gratitude for having made him available as a resource person for the Programme. They look forward to the continued support of the College in future also.

National seminar on "Democratic Trends in Indian Education Scenario :Practice and Future"

A two day National seminar on Democratic Trends in Indian Education Scenario :Practice and Future" was conducted at the college sponsored by Institute of Parliamentary Affairs Government of Kerala on 5th and 6th December 2019. Ottapalam MLA Shri P. Unni inaugurated the seminar. College principal Dr. Ampili Aravind presided seminar. Felicitations were given by MEd Head of the Department Dr. Anil Kumar KP and staff secretary Dr. Devika R. Seminar coordinator Dr.Suresh Kumar K delivered the vote of thanks.
Emeritus Professor of Gandhigram Universityi Dr.M.A. Sudhir, Principal of VTB College Sreekrishnapuram Dr.E.Jayan and Associate Professor of School of Gandhian studies and thought Dr P.P Naushad were the key Resource persons of the seminar. Paper Presentation Competitions were held as part of the seminar and students secured cash awards and certificates for the first second and third place. Dr K S Sajan Assistant professor of NSS Training College Ottapalam chaired the session.
Valedictory session was held on 6th December afternoon. The valedictory address was given by the College Principal Dr. Ampili Aravind. Staff Advisor Dr sethu.S. Nath welcomed the session. The keynote address was given by the chief guest Dr. M.A. Sudhir. After the feedback by the participants, College Principal distributed Cash Swards and Certificates. The National Seminar ended with the vote of thanks by seminar coordinator Dr. Suresh Kumar K.

Focus film club inauguration
The film club activities of the academic year 2019_20 were inaugurated by the college principal Dr. Ampili Aravind. Along with that, the campus film festival organized by the Dialogue film society, Ottapalam was inaugurated by film director Sri. Farook Abdul Rahiman, the Kerala State award-winner for the film 'Kaliachan'. College union chairman NavaneethaKrishnan presided over the function.Dr. Dvika R Staff secretary of the college, Arts club secretary Smt.Sherinmol, and Co-ordinator of Dialogue film festival Sri. Dinesh Babu felicitated the function. The Staff Advisor, Dr.Sethu S. Nath welcomed the gathering and Dr.Sankaranarayanan Paleeri, co-ordinator of Focus film club expressed vote of thanks. The screening of the film "Ottal"
