Women cell inauguration for the academic year 2018 -19 was conducted on 18 -09 2018 by Dr. Parvathy Warrier Retd H O D Department of english, Mercy College, Palakkad.Smt Smitha R Women cell Coordinator delivered welcome speech. Principal Dr. Lakshmi K Nair presided over the function and gave presidential address and Dr Parvathy Earlier gave the inaugural speech.Staff advisor Dr Seema Menon ,former women cell coordinator Dr Chitra L,  and Sherin mol K S Union Vice Chairperson delivered felicitations and Sreedevi G Women cell student coordinator delivered vote of thanks

Ozone Day Celebrated

September 16 was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the international day for the preservation of Ozone layer this designation has been made on December 19th 2000 in commemoration of the date in 1987 on which Nations signed on Montreal protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer. The Haritha nature Club of NSS Training College observed Ozone day on 18th September. As a part of it competitions were conducted on documentary presentation and poster making. The program began at 1:30 p.m. shameema mamu T T  delivered a brief introduction to Ozone day observance talking about ozone layer its importance ozone depletion its reasons and consequences and remedies. After that each optional presented their documentary. Dr Jayaprakash RK Sri akhil k sreedhar Shri Lakshmi v were included in the panel of judges. The  winners of the competitions are as follows. Poster making first English second natural science third mathematics and Malayalam. Documentary competition first Malayalam second physical science 3rd English

In connection with Ozone day conducted a documentary film competition between different optional subjects. Students themselves created short films or documentaries for the Awareness of the importance of ozone and Ozone day. They also created Posters for the same purpose. among the documentaries the documentary created by Malayalam optional who won the first place. Physical Science 2nd and English 3rd

College union and Arts Club inauguration

College Union and Arts club was inaugurated on 12-09-2018. Program started with a prayer & Aacharya anusmaranam. College union chairman, sri.Hari.V.R presided over the session.  Dr.Lakshmi K Nair, Principal of the college delivered the Keynote speech. Sri. Ganesh Kailas, a motivational speaker in wheel chair inaugurated the college union programs and Sri. Pradeep Somasundaran, a renowned musician inaugurated the Arts club.He sang film songs from different languages.  The program was felicitated by Dr.K.S. Sajan, staff secretary, Dr.Seema Menon K.P., staff advisor and smt.Sethu S Nath, fine arts advisor.  The Program concluded with a vote of thanks from Smt.Anjali. P, fine arts Secretary. In the afternoon the students of the college , exhibited their talents in different arenas in the cultural programmes.

Teachers Day Celebrations

Teacher's Day was celebrated in our college under the aegis of college union. The program started at 9.30 am with a lamp lighting ceremony, symbolising, the famous quotes of Tagore - only a lit lamp can kindle light in a new one, with a chanting on ' Guru' at the background. The teachers lit the lamp followed by all the students of the college. Students honoured all teachers with a greeting card & a bouquet. Union chairman sri.Hari V.R. welcomed the gathering. College Principal, Dr Lakshmi K Nair presided over the function. Sri. K.Rajeev, Principal, TRKHSS,Vaniyamkulam, a renowned teacher delivered the key note address on the significance of a teacher in student's life. A momento has been presented to the chief guest.A digital magazine on " The memories of a favorite teacher ' was published by Dr.K.S.Sajan followed by cultural programmes. In an experience sharing session teachers & students shared their thoughts & experiences of their beloved teacher.The session concluded with a vote of thanks at 12.45 pm.
