27-03-2025: College Merit Day

 The College Merit Day 2025 is organized on 27-03-2025 FN. The program was organized to honor the best scorers and winners of the 2022-2024 B Ed and M Ed batches. 

The merit day distributed cash awards to the B Ed optional class wise toppers, second toppers, M Ed topper, and second toppers of B Ed classes and M Ed. 

The award was distributed to college toppers and second toppers in the B Ed program of 2022-2024.

Other awards are: 

KS Menon endowment award to the best outgoing students of the Social Science class

Vijayasree Menon endowment award for top scorer of Malayalam optional papers.

WORLD WATER DAY OBSERVANCE

                                 


The Blue Army Club of our college organized a Water Conservation Awareness Program in observance of World Water Day. The event aimed to educate and inspire students about the significance of water conservation and the urgent need to protect our water resources. The program was led by first-year Natural Science students Nimisha, Priyanka, and Sabira. They effectively highlighted key aspects of water conservation through various examples. A video was screened, emphasizing the importance of water conservation and the preservation of glaciers. It also provided insights into global water scarcity, the impact of climate change on water bodies, and sustainable water management practices. To reinforce the message, signboards displaying impactful slogans and facts about water conservation were exhibited.

M.Ed. Third Semester Result Analysis Report 
 The M.Ed. Third Semester Result Analysis Report of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, showcases the academic achievements of students, highlighting the top performers and subject-wise performance distribution. The top three performers are Vinisha B V with 88%, Vinitha U K with 87.5%, and Ajanya R with 86.25%.
The subject-wise performance of students is categorized into Distinction, First Class, Second Class, and Fail for the subjects MED 09, MED 10, MED 12.1, and Option Paper. The performance breakdown reveals that 14 students secured distinction, 8 students secured first class, 2 students secured second class, and no students failed. This result reflects a strong academic performance across all subjects.
The key highlights of the results include a high achievement rate with no failures recorded, a majority of students securing distinction, and consistent subject performance. The institution's commitment to quality education is evident in the outstanding results, and the student’s hard work and dedication are commendable.
The success of students is a result of the dedicated efforts of the faculty and the guidance provided by Prof. Dr. Sunil Kumar A S, Class In charge, and Prof. Dr. Smitha R, Principal In charge. Congratulations to all students for their achievements.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY- FIELD VISIT TO EMMRC BY M ED STUDENTS

 

Report on the Visit to the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC), University of Calicut





 Introduction

On March 17, 2025, a visit to the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) at the University of Calicut was conducted to explore its role in the development of educational multimedia content and digital learning resources. Established in 1998 under the University Grants Commission (UGC), EMMRC Calicut is a premier institution dedicated to the production of educational content, digital learning materials, and media research for higher education. It plays a crucial role in supporting the SWAYAM and DTH SWAYAMPRABHA initiatives by creating high-quality Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and video lectures.

The visit provided an in-depth understanding of the institution’s infrastructure, operations, and contributions to digital education.

Overview of the Visit

Upon arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by the EMMRC staff, who provided an overview of the canter’s history, vision, and mission. They explained EMMRC’s commitment to enhancing education through technological innovations and media production. The briefing set the stage for a comprehensive tour of the facility.

Key Sessions and Discussions

1.    Educational Video Production Process

o   Sri. Sajeed Naduthody, Producer at EMMRC, explained the content production process, covering scriptwriting, pre-production, shooting, post-production, and dissemination.

o   Emphasized the balance between academic accuracy and engaging multimedia elements.

o   Discussed collaborations with subject matter experts and academic institutions.

2.    Technical Aspects of Video Recording

o   Sri. Binnesh, Senior Production Staff, provided insights into multi-camera recording, lighting setup, and sound engineering.

o   Demonstrated the live recording process and post-recording editing techniques.

3.    Post-Production Process

o   The Editor explained the use of advanced video editing software, including animations, infographics, and subtitles.

o   Stressed the importance of seamless transitions, clear audio, and engaging visuals for effective learning.

4.    Role of Graphics in Educational Media

o   Sri. Aneesh K.R., Graphic Artist, detailed how illustrations, animations, and motion graphics enhance the effectiveness of educational videos.
