World Social Justice Day Observance

Human rights forum of NSS Training College Ottapalam and  Social Science Association observed World Social Justice Day on 20/02/2026. The theme presentation was done by Sahla Thasneem K and Shahana CP. Human rights forum member Dr Lekshmi V coordinated the event.

Merit Day - 2026 (2023-2025 btach) 17-02-206; College General Hall

 The Merit Day of the 2023–2025 batch was organized on 17-02-2026 at the General Hall. Dr. Sankaranarayanan Paleeri served as the Convenor of the programme. The event was conducted in a grand and memorable manner with the wholehearted support of the faculty members and the active participation of the present students.

The programme commenced at 10:00 AM. The session was formally welcomed by Dr. Sankaranarayanan Paleeri, IQAC Coordinator, and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Smitha R, Principal i/c. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. K. Radhika Balachandran, Headmistress, NSS KPT HSS, Ottapalam.

During the function, Sri. K. Balamukandan (PTA Vice President), Dr. K. S. Sajan, and Dr. Lekshmi V were felicitated in recognition of their valuable contributions. Kum. Archana, General Secretary of the Student Union, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was gracefully compered by Kum. Nitha.

The awards were distributed by the honoured guests, and the event concluded on a highly appreciative note. Overall, the programme was truly a gracious and inspiring occasion for all the participants.

Report on World Wetland Day Programme

 World Wetland Day
Date: 2 February 2026
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Theme: “Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage”
World Wetlands Day was observed on 2nd February 2026, by Blue Army Club and Haritha Nature Club of NSS Training college, Ottapalam with the aim of creating awareness about the importance of wetlands and the role of traditional knowledge in conserving them.
The programme began at 9:30 a.m. with the prayer by Amrutha K and Kavya Krishna P, for seeking blessing from the almighty. The programme was conducted in presence of the Teacher co-ordinators Dr.Anu.S and Dr. Aswathy K .S, Nss Training college, Ottapalam.The programme was efficiently compered by Haneena, who smoothly coordinated the events.
A detailed presentation on wetlands was presented by Navya and Athira Haridas. The presentation explained the importance of wetlands in maintaining ecological balance, supporting biodiversity, and sustaining human life. Special emphasis was given to the theme “Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage”, highlighting how traditional practices and cultural heritage contribute to wetland conservation.
They shared several ideas to protect wetlands, such as avoiding waste dumping in water bodies, conserving water, protecting aquatic life, planting trees, and spreading awareness among people. The programme encouraged students to take responsibility in protecting wetlands using traditional knowledge and sustainable practices.
The programme was informative and inspiring, and it helped students understand the environmental and cultural value of wetlands. The presentation session was concluded with a message emphasizing the importance of conserving wetlands for future generations.
The programme concluded at 10:00 am, with the National anthem.
