The palliative club of NSS Training collage Ottapalam ,conducted palliative care awareness week under the co-ordination of Dr seema Menon K P. The program incites to be a support to those who are alone in the prison of loneliness with a half-dead body and a healthy ward. The entire program was enthusiastic and illuminative.
We, the members of palliative club decided to celebrate the palliative care awareness week through 6 lasting days activities. The six days activities distributed to six different classes. On the first day of the program (15/01/2024), the students of social science promoted the importance of giving care to the one those who have lost the rhythm of their mind after receiving failure in the battle field of life , through posters and slogans. The second day of the palliative care awareness week (16/01/2024), under the leadership of Malayalam students, the fund was collected through charity box for the palliative care patients. The students and the teachers of the college generously contributed to the fund-raising program. On the third day of the week (17/01/ 2024), the usable old clothes were collected from students and staff under the guidance of the Physical Science student.The representatives of the club visited the 'Poly Garder' Charity Organisation in Lakkidi and handed over our token of love in the form of clothes. On 18th January 2024, the 4th day of the program, under the assistance of natural science an awareness program has been conducted by the palliative club, the resource person being Mr. Mujeeb, the vice president, CPIP. The session has been inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Ampili Aravind, the principal of NSS Training College Ottapalam after the welcome speech of Mythri Devashravas ,the student coordinator of palliative club. And the vote of thanks has been delivered by Vishnu KV ,NSS leader.The talk was about the care that needs to be given to the palliative care patients not as a service but as a right .On the 5th day (19/01/2024) of the week, the students of Mathematics presented a penetrating flash mob on the theme to promote the care which we should give to the palliative care patients. On the last day of the palliative care awareness week (22/1/2024), the students of English presented a splendid and insightful drama on the palliative care awareness theme.
The whole program in the palliative care awareness week has been successfully completed with a keen and bright outlook promotion. With the support and assistance of principal of NSS Training college Ottapalam, Dr. Ampili Aravind along with Dr.Seema Menon made the program victorious.
