Work Readiness Program

IQAC of NSS Training College Ottapalam and Placement Cell of the College in collaboration with Skill development park, Lakkidi organised three day Work Readiness Program for BEd Students from 25th October to 27th October.
Staff secretary Dr Lekshmi V rendered Welcome Address and Dr Suresh Kumar K, Associate Professor NSS Training College Ottapalam inaugurated the program. Dr K S Sajan, IQAC Coordinator, Dr Sankaranarayanan Paleeri Placement Cell Coordinator and Dr Sreevidya Nair N Staff Advisor gave  the felicitation addresses. Ms Varada, Program manager, ASAP gave introductory remarks about the program and Mr Akshay, Student coordinator rendered vote of thanks
BEd students were divided into four groups and Mr Adarsh P R, Ms Sneha T, Ms Varada U and Ms Sruthi K S acted as the trainers.

Workshop on Standardization of Research Tools



As a component of the M.Ed. curriculum in connection with dissertation work, the IT Club and IQAC jointly organized a Workshop on Standardization of Research Tools on October 20, 2023, a Friday, in the College computer lab. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. S. Sajan for final year M.Ed. students. The workshop commenced at 10 AM and proved to be highly effective and informative in the standardization process of research tools.

Weeklong Yoga Workshop


REPORT ON WEEKLONG YOGA WORKSHOP
Yoga is a balanced state of the body and mind. To equipment students of I st year M.ed ( 2023- 2025) batch of NSS Training college ottapalam a " Week-long yoga workshop" was coordinated by Dr Seema Menon K P [Associate professor, yoga trainer and evaluator ( YCB)] and was  conducted from 16/10/23 to 20/10/23 in the PG block of the college. 28 students attended the workshop. We got an insight about ' sookshma yoga' from warmup. Different types of pranayamas like ' Nadi shudhi pranayama'. Different types of yogasanas including standing asanas like Vrikshasana, Ardachandrasana , Padahastasana, Trigonasana  etc. Sitting asanas like Pasmasana , Vajrasana , Butterfly pose, etc. Lying asanas like Bhujangasana, savasana , boat lose, shalabhasana, Dhanurasana, etc. Meditation and yoga Nidia helped us relax our mind and body. Overall the workshop was an exceptional experience which helped students understand the benefits of yoga. Seema ma'am helped us and also transferred her positive energy and enthusiasm to make us energetic. The workshop was a great success.

Road Safety Awareness Class


A road safety awareness class was conducted for the students of NSSKPT VHSS. Various signs on road and its meaning were made familiar. The four basic and important rules were introduced. In the present scenarios where road accidents are so common the session was relevant.

TALENTS DAY

NSS Training College, Ottapalam, celebrated its annual Talents Day on 12th and 13th October 2023.This event provided an exceptional platform for students to exhibit their diverse talents through visual presentations. The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a warm welcome by Dr.Aswathy K S, fine arts Coordinator. Prof (Dr.) Ampili Aravind, the college Principal, delivered the inaugural address. Dr. K.S. Sajan (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Lakshmi V (Staff Secretary), and Sri. Suresh Kumar K, (Head Accountant), graced the occasion with their felicitations. Various departments and students took turns performing, showcasing an array of talents, including poetry recitations, songs, dances, book reviews, film reviews, mimicry, mono act and more.

On the first day, the English department initiated the program, and three additional departments followed. The day culminated with a vibrant display of talents. The second day began with the Physical Science department, and subsequently, the remaining departments delivered captivating performances. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Anjana B. Nair, fine arts Advisor. The event emphasized the importance of Talents Day in fostering self-confidence and celebrating the diverse talents within the academic community.
