Independence Day Celebration 2021

 NSS training college, Ottapalam celebrated 75th independence Day in a mesmerizing way on 15th August 2021.  The programs were scheduled to run via google meet and began at 10 a.m. The faculties and students attended the program to observe Independence Day and to pay respects to the people who took us to freedom. The programs began at 10 a.m with welcome address by Janani B(Student Union Vice Chair Person), followed by Presidential Address by Ananthakrishnan K(Chairman). The Inauguration and the Independence Day message was given by Dr. Ampili Arvind (College Principal). By emphasising the importance of the Day, Dr. Sajan K S (IQAC Coordinator), Sri. Akhil K Sreedhar (Staff Secretary) and Smt. Lekshmi V,(Union Advisor)expressed their felicitation to the entire program. Followed by the felicitation, vote of thanks for the session was delivered by Anagha K G, (Fine Arts Secretary). There were cultural programs organised by College Union and Music Club after the inaugural session. The first part of the program involved viewing video presentation, that was created and coordinated by the students from every optional subjects of our college. The video presentation highlighted the importance of the day by including various aspects associated with the history of our nation. Some of the key elements that were selected in the video presentation were primarily based on the theme of our cultural heritage and diversity. Technological advancements in a variety of sectors have been featured in the presentation to show our country’s progress. In addition to that, the focus has also been on our Olympics achievements, in light of our participation in the arena in the global context so far. In the context of 2021, as the Olympic year, the importance of our involvement in the olympics since 1960 has also been emphasized. The given segment included in the video presentation attracted a great deal of attention and everyone enjoyed our participation so far in the Olympics by sharing this feat in the presentation. The other aspects which were shared in the video presentation included, list of institutions in association with various cultural background, contributions of our artists and writers in both literature and other arts respectively. The presentation also included the portrayal of classical dances of India; reflecting the cultural heritage and diversity. After the video presentation the second part of the program, was coordinated by the music club of our college. As part of the Independence Day programme, numerous competitions have been organised by the music club and announced the competition results. The competitions organised by the music club includes, Interschool Singing Competition, Patriotic song competitions in Malayalam, and Folk/tribal songs in any Indian language. The songs required for the contest were collected in video and audio formats prior to the contest. The best-chosen songs from the participants were included in the Independence Day segment and played during the cultural programming session. Followed by the programs organised by music club, we organised a live quiz session to commemorate the importance of the day by putting forward a whole series of questions based on the significance of the entire events since the struggle for freedom. After all, the whole session was perfectly coordinated through the efforts of teachers and students who helped the program turn out to be successful.
