Introduction
The IT Club conducted an “App for the Week” session. First year B.Ed English students led the programme. The session focused on the mobile app “Vocabulary Builder”. The aim was to improve vocabulary using digital tools.

Objectives
• Improve English vocabulary
• Promote mobile learning
• Build daily learning habits
• Train student teachers to use apps in teaching

Programme Details
The session began with a brief overview of the initiative. A. Remsiya handled compering. Shravya S presented the app.

Key points covered:
• App purpose and features
• Installation steps
• Account setup
• Learning modes such as quizzes and flashcards
• Daily word practice and revision

A live demo was shown. Students saw how to use the app step by step. Sample activities were demonstrated. The presenter explained progress tracking and daily challenges.

Participation
Students actively engaged in the session. They asked questions and explored the app features during the demo.

Outcome
• Students learned practical vocabulary tools
• Increased interest in mobile learning
• Better awareness of self learning strategies
• Readiness to use apps in classroom teaching

Feedback
Participants responded positively. They found the app easy to use and useful for daily practice.

Yousafali Kecheri anusmaranam

 The Ragam  music club,NSS Training College, Ottappalam, conducted a musical tribute to Yousafali Kecheri which was named as അനുരാഗഗാനം പോലെ. Smt. Seema C, Music Club Coordinator, extended a  welcome speech to the session. Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar K delivered the keynote address, and Kum. Harsha S Mohan extended a vote of thanks. The event was made memorable by the participation and song presentations of our students 🙏.

'Read to Me Day' celebration and Manuscript Magazine release

 

English Language Association organized the Read to Me Day on 17 th March 2026. Following the opening prayer Navya welcomed the gathering. The event was inaugurated by the Principal-in-Charge Prof.(Dr.)Suresh Kumar K. Meera Krishnan and Gayathri R. then introduced the theme of the day to the audience. They elaborated on the critical need to read to children. In connection with the function, the Principal-in-Charge released the manuscript magazine'Dreamscape' created by the students of English optional course. The magazine Editor Sruthi V introduced the magazine.  Staff Advisor Dr. Ravisankar  R. and  Faculty -in-Charge Dr. Mridula K., offered felicitations. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Krishna Damodar. 

    

Down Syndrome Awareness Day

On behalf of Internal Committee for Differently Abled, World Down's syndrome day was observed in the College Assembly as thought for the day program. The 2026 theme was presented by Krishna Veni, B. Ed first year Natural Science student. Down syndrome awareness pledge was taken by College Principal in Charge Prof. (Dr.)Suresh Kumar K.Assembly dispersed after news reading.

The IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam organised an “App for the Week” programme. First year B.Ed English students conducted the session. The programme introduced the mobile application “Vocabulary Builder”. The aim was to help student teachers improve English vocabulary through digital tools.

• Introduce useful educational mobile applications to student teachers

• Develop English vocabulary skills

• Promote the use of technology in learning

• Encourage self learning through mobile applications

Programme Details

The programme started with a brief introduction about the purpose of the “App for the Week” initiative. The session was compered by A. Remsiya. Shravya S presented the application “Vocabulary Builder”.

During the presentation, the presenter explained the features of the application. She demonstrated how the app helps learners improve vocabulary through quizzes, daily word practice, flashcards, and progress tracking. The presenter also explained how students can use the app regularly to learn new words and improve language proficiency.

A live demonstration was conducted using a smartphone. Students observed how to install the app, create an account, and begin vocabulary exercises. Examples of vocabulary activities and practice tests were shown. The presenter highlighted how the app supports continuous learning through daily challenges and revision exercises.

Outcome

• Students understood the importance of vocabulary development in language learning

• Participants learned how to use the Vocabulary Builder app for daily practice

• The session promoted the use of mobile applications for academic purposes
