Remedial Learning Engagement: 2019-21

 Remedial Learning Engagement was carried out for the selected students from each class based on their academic score. Subject experts, Dr Anil Kumar K P, Ms. Remya K, Dr. Lekshmi V and Dr. Sheeba Krishnan, were handled the Remedial Learning Session during this academic year, 5 days were selected for the programme. Sessions were conducted on 24-07-2019, 30-10-2019, 24-03-2020, 30-09-2020 and 15-02-2021.

Department of Mathematics Education and IQAC of NSS Training College, Ottapalam is organizing a *National Level Online Quiz on Mathematics Education for a period from 1st June to 10 th June 2020*. Participation of all student teachers and teacher educators with Mathematics background is mostly appreciated during the commencement of new academic year.

*Anyone scoring 80 % and above will be awarded e -certificate via e-mail soon after the submission*

INAUGURATION OF MATHEMATICS CLUB AND RELEASE OF DIGITAL MAGAZINE

Mathematics club for the academic year 2020-21 of NSS Training College, Ottapalam in collaboration with IQAC was inaugurated on 29th September 2020 by our chief guest Sri. R. Ramanujam virtually at 2pm. The name (INSπRE) as well as the logo of the club was announced officially on that day. The first contribution from the club was a digital magazine related to Statistics. The name of the magazine was ‘STATTOS’ which was released by our beloved principal Dr. Ampili Aravind. There were more than 40 participants in the program including students and staffs. Under the guidance of the Head of the Department Dr. Minikumari D.,  Dhrisya P. of second year B.Ed. Mathematics co-ordinated the program. The welcome speech was delivered by Malavika M. of second year B.Ed. Mathematics. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Minikumari D. The felicitation was given by Dr. Sethu S. Nath (Staff Advisor), Dr. K.S. Sajan (IQAC Co-ordinator), Dr. Suresh Kumar (Associate Professor) and Navaneeth Krishnan C.O (College Union Chairman). 

Our chief guest Sri. R. Ramanujam, HSST Mathematics, MNKM Govt. HSS Pulapatta, Palakkad is a textbook committee member and state resource group member for teacher training. There was an interactive session carried out by our chief guest on ‘MATH IT LAB’. The talk was based on the importance of ICT in Mathematics classroom. He demonstrated some examples using ICT for making the concept clear. The session was very much informative and will be helpful in the future.

At the end of the program, Asma A. of second year B.Ed. Mathematics delivered the vote of thanks. On the whole, the program was a huge success.

MATH LECTURE SERIES- DAY 1

Exploring math with e- learning 

NSS Training college ottapalam,  Mathematics club in association with IQAC conducted the first day of math  lecture series in Google meet on the topic GEOGEBRA CLASSROOM on 22nd October 2020.There were more than 50 participants in the program including staff and students. Under the guidance of the Head of the Mathematics Department,  Dr. Minikumari maam,  K.Veena of second year B.ed mathematics coordinated the program. 

The session began with a prayer by Divyasree .K of second year mathematics. Sreeshma. S delivered the welcome speech. The presidential address was given by the principal, Dr. Ampili Aravind maam. 

The resource person for the session was Vinod Machigal , (HST Mathematics,  TRK HSS Vaniamkulam ). Vinod Sir gave us a glimpse of the GEOGEBRA Application- how to use it, various functions of the application and so on along with live demonstration. He stressed the relevance of ICT enabled mathematics teaching that can facilitate easy learning of the subject. The class was really useful and informative to us.

Dr. Minikumari maam, Head of the Mathematics Department rendered the vote of thanks. An e- certificate was provided to all the participants. There was live streaming of the session on the college YouTube channel, Vaighari. The webinar received great appreciation and attention from both faculty and students. 

NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY 2020 - ICOSAGON

NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY CELEBRATION 2020

 As part of National Mathematics Day, NSS TRAINING COLLEGE OTTAPALAM, Department of Mathematics Education  in collaboration with IQAC conducted a virtual celebration 'ICOSAGON', in Google meet. There were more than 50 participants in the program. With the instructions of the Head of the Department of Mathematics Education  Dr. Minikumari D, Binisha from 1styear B.Ed Mathematics, coordinated the program. Steffi Jose from the same department welcomed the gathering. With the concent of principal Dr. Ambili Aravind,IQAC Coordinator Dr.K S Sajan presided over the session. Malavika M from 2nd Year B. Ed Mathematics felicitated the  program.After this first year B. Ed students presented some programs related to the day. National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 December every year to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. Reshma gave a detailed presentation about his contributions and talked about the importance of the day. Jithin played the trailer of the film 'The man who knew infinity', a film about Srinivasa Ramanujan. Anagha shared some interesting facts about mathematics and Harsha took a detailed class inVedic Mathematics. Later Mini gave a description about Fields Medal, Nobel prize for Mathematics. Anand gave a beautiful explanation of some graphs through presenting a video of his own. Aparna gave a presentation about Mathematics in daily life. Between the programs Neethu gave some interesting maths puzzles for the audience. Last but not the least Vinaya, from first year B.Ed Mathematics rendered the vote of thanks. After the program an online quiz competition was conducted and e-certificate was awarded for the best participants.

Our first semester MEd students successfully completed one week certificate course on Yoga Education from 02-02-2021 to 06-02-2021.
