Rhythm- Introducing the musical instruments of Kerala and Himachal Pradesh
The third program conducted by the EBSB club of NSS Training
College Ottapalam is a presentation about the musical instruments of Himachal Pradesh
and Kerala. The presentation was named 'Rhythm'. It 'showcases the musical
journey of both Kerala and Himachal Pradesh. The presentation starts with the
introduction of the musical heritage and culture of both the states. Different instruments like, Chenda, Thimila, Udukk etc from Kerala
and instruments like Dol, Kumru from Himachal Pradesh are introduced. The highlight of the
programme was the Udukku demonstration by Sri. Sasi Kumar T., Clerk (Higher Grade
) of our college. The video gives a detailed presentation about the instrument
Udukk from Kerala. The speciality of Udukk, how is it made, it's origin all the related aspects are discussed in the video. The presentation gives a new light towards the
different instruments of the Kerala and Himachal Pradesh. The musical culture
is so important for the people of India, so it is a necessity to understand
about the different musical heritage of the different states.

The Festivals of Light- On the Occasion of Deepaavali
The EBSB club of the NSS Training College Ottapalam prepared a video presentation on 'The festivals of light. As part of the programs conducted for the November, a presentation including different festivals in India were the 'diyas' (mud lamps) are lighted are introduced. The presentation included Diwali, which was on November 14th which is celebrated all over India and also the 'Karthika Vilak' celebrated on November 29th by the people in Kerala, Tamilnadu and associated regions. The presentation included the history, myth and the speciality of these festivals. The presentation was very informative and it also helped to realize the similarity in the festivals celebrated in different part of our country. The festivals are always a celebration for Indian people. Since the pandemic situations are not allowing us to do what we usually do. We are trying to enjoy and embrace the best from the current situation. This video of sharing the culture is actually a good example for this.
Versification Competition on the topic 'If you get a chance to go back to your childhood' in connection with Children' day, November 14.
The EBSB club of NSS
College, Ottapalam conducted an inter collegiate poem writing completion as the
first program for the month of November. The completion was linked with the
Children' day, November 14. This was for all the college students in Kerala and
in Himachal Pradesh. The theme of the poem that should be written was 'If you
get a chance to go back to your childhood'. The entries were accepted in three
languages- Malayalam, Hindi and English. The participants were asked to submit
their entries on or before 13th November. The participants were asked to fill a
Google form and attach their work to the form. Twenty two entries were received
and the winners were announced accordingly. The winners and the participants
were given certificates. The program was a huge success.
